Antonio del Río Aguilar papers for membership to the Orden de Santiago, circa 1541-1690.

This collection contains a book of hand-colored family crests entitled Blason de Espana, and a memorandum book documenting Antonio del Río Aguilar of Segovia's membership process into the military Orden de Santiago. He has many people testify on his behalf so he can gain entrance to this prestigious military order. Upon verification of his ancestry and his works, Antonio del Río Aguilar is accepted into the order. Included are several letters from the King Philip IV of Spain. The cover title of this volume is: Quaderno, de escrituras, y papeles diversos tocantes al Senor Antonio del Río Aguilar, y sus descendientes, con los titulos de Auitos servicios y otras cosas, Segobia, Casa de Aguilar, Leg[ajo] 20, Num[ero] 3.
